Raisio Art School for Children and Youth

The Art School offers goal-oriented, progressive basic education in visual arts for children and young people aged 7–18.

The studies provide opportunities for making, experiencing, and enjoying art. In class, students engage in hands-on activities, experiment with materials and learn how to use them, practice creating images, explore images, media phenomena, and the visual environment around them. The goal of the general syllabus is to promote joy in learning, motivation for studies, and creative thinking.

Teaching at the Art School is guided by the curriculum of the Raisio Art School for Children and Youth, based on the National Core Curriculum for Basic Education in the Arts set by the Finnish National Agency for Education.

Art School groups are taught by Tarja Orvokki Virtanen and Tiia Salmelin. The preparatory group is taught by Tiia Salmelin. The groups meet at Kylä-Klemelä (Hulvelankatu 35, Raisio). Teaching language is Finnish.
